Moraga police are looking for the person or persons responsible for a vandalism rampage at Campolindo High School, discovered early Tuesday morning and resulting in between $10,000 to $15,000 in damage, according to police.

Officers were called to the school Tuesday after facilities maintenance workers discovered that someone had used construction machinery rented for ongoing work at the school and used the equipment to vandalize the premises.

Investigators found that someone had used a 6′ length of pipe to break out the windows to the cafeteria building, reaching in to tamper with two cash drawers – which appeared to be empty.

Police say possible charges include trespassing, vehicle theft and felony vandalism for those responsible, if located. The incident remains under investigation.

  1. Having survived the DuPont Plaza Hotel fire, I’d say these acts and setting fire to anything inside a public building are equally serious and should be punished to the full extent of the law.

  2. If you are suggesting a Campolindo kid did this I would recommend that he or she dropped out of high school and get a job with a construction company right away. That’s pretty skillful manipulation of an excavator!
