Lafayette Woman To Represent The East Bay In Miss California Contest

Lafayette native and Acalanes grad Eden Sussenguth has been chosen to represent the East Bay in the upcoming state Miss California USA® pageant to be held Dec. 2-4, 2016 in Long Beach.

The winner of the statewide competition will go on to compete at the national Miss USA® competition.

Sussenguth is a 23-year-old Bay Area native raised in Lafayette. She graduated from Acalanes High School, earning her Bachelor of Science from California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo with Cum Laude honors in 2015.

During college Sussenguth was a member of the Sigma Kappa sorority and completed over 1,000 hours of volunteer work with the Alzheimer’s Association, Special Olympics, and other community organizations serving special populations. Sussenguth is currently a marketing and development professional at an East Bay nonprofit organization where she helps create stronger communities free of domestic and family violence. In her spare time, she performs Tahitian dance competitively at the Da Island Way studio.
