It was a grueling day on local roadways Monday as motorists found themselves involved in a series of accidents, including a violent crash on Interstate 680 at Willow Pass and a two-car collision outside the Walnut Creek BevMo shortly afterward.
Local CHP officers and city police responded from scene to scene, clearing roadways and getting people taken care of, but, thankfully, no serious injuries were reported.
The I-680 crash occurred at the height of the evening commute, spread debris across both the northbound and southbound lanes of traffic and backed up traffic for miles before it could be cleared. Amazingly, minor injuries were reported in that collision.
