A Little Wine… A Little Cheese; A Little Smoke… A Little Fire

Another glorious day in California today with parties everywhere, good food and family ready to pass the margaritas and forgive us our trespasses.

We’re sunburned and grateful for the hospitality shown us out there today. Traffic was a little squeezy in parts of the Bay Area and we ran into some as we made our way to and fro, and we couldn’t help but notice our fire season appears off to a roaring start with reports of blazes large and small.

We should have known it was going to be a smoky day when a favored reader queried about the smell of smoke in Lafayette. Nothing was burning here at that point and then Bang, Boom, Whiff… photo from another favored reader and local person as fire crept toward an inoffensive Taco Bell off Highway 4 at Willow Pass.

  1. The intro missed memorial day and seems to be a week early for 4th of July. So not sure what you going for in it.

On a different note. Will this fire season bring another nutcase who will try to start wild fires along Hwy 4 and Hwy 24 like last season. Wonder how much time the guy from last year is serving.
