San Ramon police say they have arrested a 28-year-old San Ramon man for an alleged sexual assault against his female Lyft driver Wednesday night.

Officers said they were contacted by the driver at 10:30 p.m. and told she had been assaulted by a male driver during a ride that originated in San Ramon.

During the ride, the victim told police her passenger – later identified as Peter Edward Voss, 28 – made sexually suggestive comments despite her requests that he stop, and that he ultimately assaulted her sexually.

Police said the victim pulled into a shopping center parking lot off of Alcosta Blvd, ordered the suspect to get out of her vehicle, and then immediately called the police. SRPD officers responded and located Voss while he was urinating in the shopping center parking lot.

The victim positively identified Voss as her assailant, according to police, and he was placed under arrest and booked at the county jail in Martinez for violations of Penal Codes 243.4 (Sexual battery) and 647f (Public intoxication).

  1. The ride services require rider information before the ride. This must have been the easiest arrest in the world to make.

  2. I guess yo ucan try to blame this on alchohol and he probably will but the underlying problem is not his drinking — it’s HIM. Take responsibility.
