Firefighters and police are racing to help a motorist ejected in a rollover accident on southbound I-680 at El Pintado Road in Danville Thursday evening.
The crash, reported at 6:58 p.m., extends the string of serious accidents along the 680 Corridor seen in recent days.
In this instance it appears a car left the roadway at El Pintado and is believed to have struck a tree. The driver is believed to have suffered serious injuries to their back and is being transported to John Muir Medical Center.
The offramp is being closed as CHP investigators look into the cause of the crash.
