Danville Says: “May The 4th Be With You!”


Families and fans of all ages can fire up their lightsabers Wednesday, May 4, 2016 as the Town of Danville hosts a day to celebrate all things Star Wars. 

Starting at 10:30 a.m., stop by the Danville Community Center to pick up a free scavenger hunt list and start looking for famous Star Wars characters at Downtown Danville businesses. The first 100 participants to complete the hunt will receive a grab bag of prizes. 

Learn how to become a Jedi on the Town Green from 4:00-6:00 p.m.. Cost is $5 per child. Visit www.danvillerecguide.com to register. 

The day will end with a showing of the newest movie, Star Wars: The Force Awakens at the Village Theatre from 8:00-10:30PM. Tickets for the show are $5 general admission and can be purchased by calling (925) 314-3400 or visiting www.villagetheatreshows.com.

Costumes are encouraged at all activities throughout the day.

  1. Umm, yeh, great franchise and all but I have to say people who get into this and start dressing as their favorite character scare me. I get that people are having a little fun and embracing an alternate life and all but we’re on earth people – time to deal!

  2. There was a great SNL skit about this with Captain Kirk lecturing fans dressed as Spock and such to “Get a life!” It was hilarious…… pretty harmless fun though I think.
