Lamorinda police, assisted by a sheriff’s helicopter and canine teams from neighboring jurisdictions, scoured the area of Altarinda Road in search of a 5-year-old child missing from her mother’s car after her mother stopped to check in at work Saturday.
Police searched for the child, Nyla Williams, who was last seen wearing a pink shirt with “Love” on the front, black pants, and who may be accompanied by the family chihuahua.
Searchers, considering the age of the child and encroaching darkness, called in all available resources to aid in the search.
The little girl, missing since around 6 p.m., was reportedly found at 8:20 p.m. Saturday. A simultaneous search effort for a 10-year-old boy, Nicholas Zinberg, who reportedly ran away from the area of Shadowhawk Circle, also ended well Saturday when the boy reportedly returned home around 8:35 p.m.
