Lots of Car Guys around these parts and some of them aren’t even guys.
NEWS24-680’s resident Explorer/Musicologist/Marathoner/Mom Amanda has always wondered about this old hulk, abandoned and left to rust in its yellowness on the trail behind the Caldecott Tunnel up to Sibley – and even risked life and limb and poison oak to reach the old carcass a while back.
She has always wondered about its origin, its past and how it came to rest where it did.
This week, she found part of her answer at the Car Show, drawn

to a shiny and well-loved, wait for it – 1966 Toyota Corona -painted the same color as her ghost wreck and Eureka! – well, there was a Eureka Moment.
Never satisfied and a bit of the detective – like several of you here – Amanda is now trying to find out who owned the car and how it ended up where it did. If you know, ease her pain.
Does it have a VIN? If so, should be able to find something through the DMV.
Good luck Amanda…
How did it get there?
I run through there. Never noticed it before. Fun story.
