Walnut Creek police said a 90-year-old Walnut Creek woman died Thursday after being struck by a car in front of 2100 Tice Valley Blvd., near Rossmoor.

Investigators said Ann Rosen was crossing Tice Valley when she was struck by a car traveling north on the boulevard. Rosen was taken to John Muir Hospital and pronounced dead there at 6:33 p.m.

Officers said the 69-year-old driver of the involved vehicle, a resident of San Pedro, was not injured in the crash and is cooperating fully with investigators. There was no immediate indication that drugs or alcohol played a role in the collision.

Police said the victim was within a crosswalk when struck. They said darkness appears to have been a contributing factor.
