Burglars struck a home in the 600 block of Alamatos Drive in Danville Monday, leaving abruptly when scared off by returning homeowners but not before brandishing guns possibly taken during the theft.

The burglars, described only as two black men in their 20s, one wearing a green beanie-type hat and a plaid shirt, struck at 12:35 p.m.  Their method of entering the residence was not immediately known.

Lt. Allan Shields said the homeowner told police that he arrived home and found a vehicle parked in the driveway with a man in the driver’s seat. The vehicle was described as a silver or charcoal Chrysler 300.

As he approached, another man exited the home, pointed a handgun at the victim and then got into the passenger side of the vehicle and fled the scene. Police searched the home but located no other suspects.

A single firearm was taken in the burglary, and it is believed to have been the weapon pointed at the victim by the suspect, according to police.

  1. You can get a locking gun case for like $100 – not having your firearms properly stored is a crime in its self.
