The NEWS24-680 Tip Line started humming early Friday after neighbors living near El Nido Ranch Rd. reported police in their neighborhood with officers obviously on the hunt for someone.
Police Chief Eric Christensen said one of his officers spotted a stolen car occupied by two people around 3:30 a.m. Friday and moved to intercept it. Officers said the driver of the car managed to elude them but they caught sight of it again and this time the driver jumped from the car while it was still moving – leaving it to crash into a nearby fence.
The man’s alleged accomplice was found still inside the car. She was detained and then released, according to police, as Lamorinda officers combed the area where the car was abandoned in search of the driver – who was not found.
