Lt. Allan Shields said the incident began at approximately 10:25 a.m. when an officer enacted a traffic stop on a vehicle driving in the 2200 block of San Ramon Valley Boulevard. While contacting the driver, the officer allegedly saw a firearm in the vehicle and removed the driver from the car. The firearm was determined to have been stolen.
A search of the vehicle turned up a second firearm and the driver was taken into custody.
The driver, identified as Erick Trujillo, 23, of Byron, has been charged with possession of stolen property, possession of a loaded weapon and possession of a concealed weapon. He was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
Guaranteed to get the heart rate pumping every time.
From reading this site I am led to believe that this happens a lot? Do police find that many guns out there on a regular basis?
I’ll bet it happens a lot.
Hmm. Another case in Martines and another in Lafayette yesterday – turned out to be a pellet gun.
