An Antioch man was arrested on suspicion of drug and gun violations early this morning during a traffic stop in Martinez, according to police.
Around 12:30 a.m. officers stopped Troy Matthews in the 3500 block of Pacheco Boulevard.
Matthews was allegedly found to be in possession of a loaded pistol with the serial number removed.
He was also allegedly carrying more than 6 grams of methamphetamine and $1,500 cash. Officers also seized the man’s cellphone, according to police.
Matthews was booked into jail on $240,000 bail.
These seems to happen with some regularity. Is it pretty common for police to find people with guns on them like this??
I’d call that a good day.
Maybe Mr. Matthews is a “weight loss counselor.” I try not to be judgmental…..
Wow. Low level dealer has $240K bail? That’s not a lot of drugs or money. Must be a repeat offender.
the gun + drugs is most likely why the bail is high. The gun especially after the Oregon mess.
