Martinez PD Tracks Suspected Phone Burglar – To Oakland

The Martinez Police Department reports that they received a call regarding an alarm activation at the Verizon cellular telephone store, located in the 1000 block of Arnold Dr. today, Monday.

According to a release issued by the department, officers arrived at the store and determined that ten new Apple iPhones and Samsung phones had been stolen. Investigators were able to trace the phones to a residence in the 4400 block of Webster St. in Oakland. Officers from the Oakland Police Department located the suspect, identified as Un Ho Kim, 38 years old, and detained him.

Martinez Police detectives responded to Oakland and executed a search warrant at the Webster Street address and recovered all the missing phones.

Kim was transported to the Contra Costa jail and booked for commercial burglary, with a $20,000.00 bail, according to police.
