Event: Burglary
Date: August 14, 2015
Time: 2 a.m.
Location: 4900 Block Alhambra Valley Road, Martinez
Synopsis: On the above date and time Martinez Police dispatch received a call from a resident in the 4900 block of Alhambra Valley Road reporting a suspicious person. The resident observed a subject pushing a motorcycle down a neighbors driveway, attempt to bump start it and then load it into a pick-up truck. He immediately called the Martinez Police Department and the first officer arrived on scene two minutes later after being dispatched.
The first officer arrived on scene and observed a subject running from the truck. Two motorcycles were in the bed of the truck. He detained the subject who was identified as 19 year old Martinez resident Antonio Neely. Neely admitted to driving the truck and loading the two motorcycles in the back. MPD officers contacted the owner of the motorcycles and it was determined the motorcycles and other property were stolen from their residence as they were sleeping. An Officer also contacted the owner of the truck who was unaware it was stolen during the night.
Neely was arrested for three counts of auto theft and two counts of burglary of an occupied dwelling. He returned to the home twice to steal property. He was later booked into MDF. This was Neely’s third arrest in the past month for auto theft.
Neely was arrested due to the willingness of a concerned citizens to call the police and assist in our efforts to locate him committing criminal behavior. All of the stolen property and vehicles were returned to the victims.
