We should probably say this sotto voce but Orinda has escaped much of the recent plague of car burglaries and other petty crimes that have been besetting its neighboring towns and cities of late.
Chief Mark Nagel isn’t sure why Orinda hasn’t been hit as hard as, say, Lafayette has in recent weeks – but he’s not complaining.
Here are the most notable cases filed by the men and women of the Orinda Police Department last week:
Residential Burglary
- July 15 – 2:12 p.m. in the 200 block of Orchard Rd.
Auto Burglary
- July 13 – 9:04 a.m. in the 100 block of Lombardy Ln.
Identity Theft
- July 13 – 3:17 p.m. in the 10 block of Southwaite Ct.
- July 16 – 3:09 p.m., reported at Orinda PD
