The search for a Walnut Creek woman missing since she walked away from her apartment Friday came to a happy conclusion Sunday night when a resident called to report that a person matching Valentina Matyushina’s description had been spotted in the Lakewood Circle area of Walnut Creek.
Officers found the woman at 10:30 p.m. She was returned to her family a short time later.
