Danville Police Investigate Apparent Murder-Suicide

Danville Police detectives are investigating the deaths of two Danville residents in what is believed to be a murder-suicide.

Police Chief Steve Simpkins said that at 7:46 a.m. officers were called to a home in the 700 block of Glen Eagle Court in the Crow Canyon Country Club after a 911 call was made.

On arrival, officers heard a gunshot from inside the home and made a forced entry into the residence where they found a male, identified as Edward Perry, 77, dead of a single gunshot wound. A search of the home led to the discovery of the body of his wife, Patricia Perry, 67, dead of two gunshot wounds in the couple’s kitchen.

Danville police say the investigation into the case continues, including details of a police response to the home in 2011. Chief Simpkins said the call was for a “disturbance” at the residence but that no arrests were made at the time.

  1. We need more work in this end of life discussion. People often find themselves forced into extreme situations. Agree with previous poster – this is very sad.

  2. Does not sound like a case of “rational suicide.” That usually involves helium “exit bags” and not guns.
