Lamorinda heated up a little last week, both meteorologically and on the crime front, as car burglars roamed our parking lots and alleys in search of loot. Lafayette police have  been making arrests and have launched a “don’t feed the bears” anti-theft campaign in the city, but admit they are still busy chasing after and catching thieves who come here because the pickings are good.

Here’s a breakdown of calls reported as handled by the men and women of the Lafayette Police Department last week. The crime reports received by NEWS24-680 were heavily redacted, so we offer this listing with the caution that some reports appear to have been been removed:

Residential Burglary

  • June 17 – 8:21 p.m., 600 block of Lancaster Dr.

Auto Theft

  • June 16 – 8:55 a.m., 900 block of 4th St.

Auto Burglary

  • June 14 – 7 a.m., 900 block of S. Thompson Rd.
  • June 18 – 7:36 a.m., 200 block of Lafayette Circ.
