Unfortunately this very nice show of support is ALL we can do in regard this latest atrocity. Even our president is resigned to the fact that this country loves its guns more than it loves its own people – children, church congregants, innocent bystanders. The sad thing is that american will probably buy more guns this week. It makes you wonder about the future.
I may be getting uber-sappy but I was moved by the President’s remarks today on race in America. Ok, I AM uber-sappy, but who better to address it? And yet he will be pilloried by his political and his xenophobic detractors.
It is indeed a long road. There is no end to it, but I have been witness to a black President in a former slave-holding nation. Hallelujah!
Aaah yes! The bigots arrive on the final day of funerals, asserting their rights to their heritage and traditions, and to an economy and Southern lifestyle based upon the enslavement of “inferiors”. This is the state of race relations 150 years after the end of slavery.
And the GOP Presidential candidates’ response?? Honor your forefathers who fought to retain these “traditions”! And the loose cannon response: “Mexico, take back your rapists and terrorists. You’re fired!”
You can’t make this S#!T up! (Yeah, I know no one is reading this. I just need an outlet.)
The latest in a string of atrocities on our home ground. It boggles the mind.
Amen
Hard to believe we’re going to go through all this all over again. Insanity.

You’d be surprised who’s reading it, David!
