A 62-year-old Danville woman was arrested Monday evening after she allegedly sideswiped an SUV waiting for a traffic light at Saint Mary’s and Moraga roads in Moraga – and then sped away from the scene.
Neighbors, who were quick to recount instances of similar accidents at the same location and who heard the impact of the Monday night crash, followed the alleged hit-and-run vehicle until it came to a stop just west of the Moraga Library – the car incapacitated by a blown tire – and notified police.
The two men inside the Ford Freestyle SUV struck by the culprit car were not injured.
Police said the hit-and-run vehicle, a Lexus RX350 driven by the unidentified visitor, was severely damaged in the crash. Its driver was arrested at the scene and cited for misdemeanor DUI and hit-and-run and later released to her husband.
