One person was struck and seriously injured by a suspected impaired driver in the 2100 block of Alhambra Avenue Sunday. The female driver was also injured in the string of crashes, according to police, and was also taken to the hospital.

Police said the incident occurred at 2:14 p.m., when officers were called to the area on a report of a hit and run collision. Officers arrived on scene and located the victim, who appeared to have serious injuries, according to police, and assisted in transporting the victim to John Muir Medical Center.

The responsible vehicle and driver were located a few blocks away after several witnesses followed the vehicle and contacted MPD, police said. The female driver of the vehicle was arrested on suspicion of DUI and also transported to the hospital for unknown injuries. Preliminary investigations revealed that at least three (3) parked vehicles were also struck by the driver.

The 2100 block of Alhambra Ave was shut down for a short time during the investigation. This investigation is ongoing and further details will be released when available.

  1. I can’t imagine the kind of life that would lead to drinking at two in the afternoon. Hope the victim in this recovers quickly.

  2. I fully endorse the two martini lunch, but not the six martini breakfast.

I hope the victim fully recovers and the driver gets the punishment (and help) she needs too.
