MORAGA: Burglars Raid Two Local Homes; Take The Porsche

Moraga police are investigating two residential burglaries in town last week.

Thieves apparently struck twice in Moraga last week, hitting homes on Hardie and Sanders drives respectively and, in one instance, making off with the owner’s Porsche.

Police said the first of two burglaries was reported on May 15 at 6:30 a.m. in the 1100 block of Sanders when the homeowner’s son visited the residence and found that it had been ransacked, with the thief or thieves entering through an unlocked window.

Police noted that drawers and closets had been extensively ransacked and that the owner’s Porsche, which had been parked in the garage, had also been taken.

The second burglary was reported at 3:57 p.m. on May 19, the homeowner telling officers that someone had entered the residence sometime between noon on May 17 and the time she contacted police.

Officers could find no evidence of a forced entry but noted the home had been “lightly ransacked.” The homeowner said personal items had been taken and said she would recontact police with a full accounting of what was missing later.
