ORINDA: Burglars Visit Local Homes And Cars

Burglars have been busy throughout The Numbers, it seems, and Orinda was not spared last week. Police acknowledge that incidents are ticking upward, perhaps as summer looms.

For reasons unexplained burglaries tend to trend upward during the summer months, investigators say.

Here’s a breakdown of crimes in Orinda for the week of April 5 to 11:

Residential Burglaries

  • April 5 – 4:02 p.m., 20 block of Bates Blvd.
  • April 7 – 10:18 p.m., 10 block of Loma Vista Dr.
  • April 8 – 10:30 a.m., 300 block of Glorietta Blvd.
  • April 8 – 7:50 p.m., 10 block of Rio Vista
  • April 11 – 2:39 p.m., 10 block of Sager Ct.

Battery

  • April 7 – (Arrest Made) 5:43 p.m., 500 block of Tahos Road

Auto Burglary

  • April 7 – 5:10 p.m., 10 block of Bates Blvd.
  • April 9 – 9:26 p.m., Orinda Nations
  • April 10 – 7 a.m., 90 block of Hillcrest Drive.
  • April 11 – 1:42 p.m., 10 block of La Fond Ln.
  • April 11 – 5:03 p.m., Wilder Road and Orinda Fields Ln.

  1. People are out and about and away from their homes more in the summer months. So, burglars have the perfect opportunity.
