Stop and smell the roses. And other garden jewels.

The Ruth Bancroft Garden celebrates its new, expanded nursery with a five-day Spring Garden Sale opening Saturday.

A favored source for hearty drought tolerant plants, succulents, cacti, California natives, and other Mediterranean climate plants, RBG’s annual sale features Agaves, Aloes, Echeverias, and more gems propagated from the Garden’s plants, some dating back to Ruth’s original collection.

The Garden’s staff, docents, and nursery propagators will provide insider tips and tricks to planting a stunning, drought resistant garden that looks great all year long.

Saturday, April 11: Free admission

  • Members Only Sale 9 – 11 a.m. (memberships available at the door)
  • Public sale 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
  • Docent-led tours at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

  1. Black-eyed Susans! A favorite. One of your editors had some beautiful ones in his front yard.

  2. Yep a couple of bags of steer manure and mulch my trusty shovel and a couple hours should do it. My garden is my retreat.
