Something To Study This Saturday – Tarantulas!

SHARE
We've come a long way since the '50s. Now, we're getting up close and personal with these fascinating creatures...

Looking to get up close with a side of nature needlessly eschewed by many?

Naturalist Jim Holmes leads Lindsay Wildlife’s series of Baby Tarantula and Wildflower Hikes on Mount Diablo’s north face this Saturday, in search of newly-hatched tarantula babies emerging from their burrows this time of year.

The two-mile April hikes through an array of blooming spring wildflowers start from the Mitchell Canyon Visitor’s Center. Bring liquids, dress in layers and wear comfortable hiking shoes. Rain or severe winds cancel.

Cost: $15/person, plus $6/vehicle parking at the Visitor Center.

NOTE: And remember, local groups and charities, sports clubs, etc. are invited to add their non-promotional, non-advertorial events directly to our Events Calendar – which is growing with more and more cool stuff to do every day!

  1. Eschewed? really? I love ’em.
Eight legs. Eight! We are potentially looking at a sub 1 minute mile.
