Cyclists Take To Iron Horse Trail

Dozens of local bicyclists are celebrating the National Opening Day for Trails, a planned event organized by Bike East Bay and embraced by area biking groups and others supporting alternative transportation and recreation.

Cyclists rendezvoused at the Concord BART station Saturday and were pedaling westward to the Iron Horse Trail, with a planned rest at Whole Foods in Walnut Creek. Their route takes riders to Peet’s Coffee in Danville – where they will refuel prior to their return to Concord, organizers said.

  1. Editor,

Applause to bikeeastbay.org for a very safe event on the Iron Horse Trail. Neighbors monitoring the trail enjoyed the friendly waves and safety first actions of the bikers as they passed through Alamo/Danville.
