On the heels of a rosy crime report for the City Everyone Loves to Love, police issued a heads up for a team of suspected package thieves they say are picking deliveries off of the area’s front porches.
In keeping with their reported crime closure rates, Lafayette PD quickly came up with a photo of the car and a person associated with this crime, and we release it here.

Investigators said this particular theft occurred on Thursday, March 5 on Greene Place when a resident there ordered a package an online check said had been delivered. A review of the home’s surveillance system determined that the package had, in fact, been delivered… but that a hispanic couple apparently following a delivery truck in a ubiquitous white mini-van had made off with the package.
The stunned homeowner and police noted that the theft was accomplished “without hesitation,” the woman half of the team boldly walking up to the front porch of the home and snatching the delivery before driving off in the van – affixed with the license plate 6SBZ093.
Police are currently working on finding the occupants of that van. If you saw it in your neighborhood and have video of the couple, please call Lafayette PD.
They are working Lamolinda right now
I really do dislike these people.
Put in one of those locking mailbox columns. They’re really going to have to work very hard to get our mail.
Randomly following trucks or getting inside information on routes and schedules?
