Cougars triumph.

Despite a strong opening series by the Sutter Huskies the Cougars of Moraga’s Campolindo High School came back strong, regained the lead in a CIF DivIII showdown at Acalanes High School tonight, Saturday, and came out on top, winning 35 to 14.

Campolindo stays perfect at 15-0 for their season with quarterback Jack Stephens, receivers Max Flower and Caleb Whalen turning in standout performances in a game which saw the whole team push past injuries to come together for the win, with Adam Remotto and Tiger Garcia turning in big plays defensively and Remotto chalking up two touchdowns in the second quarter to tie the game and help get the Cougar offense rolling again.

Stephens stunned the Huskies and electrified the crowd with a massive 76-yard missile to Whalen to make it 21 to 14 and the Coogs never relinquished the lead again.

Campolindo will face El Capitan-Lakeside from San Diego County in next Saturday’s state title game in Carson.
