Walnut Creek police are looking for leads in their investigation of a hit-and-run accident which left a 48-year-old Walnut Creek man with life-threatening injuries Saturday night.
Details of the 6:43 p.m. collision at Walnut Ave. at Hutchinson Trail were sparse, but were updated Sunday afternoon. Police said only that a dark colored sedan was involved, speeding away on Walnut Ave. after it hit the man at that location.
The victim, whose name was not given, reportedly ran into the road just before he was hit, police said, and he was not in a crosswalk at the time of the collision. The victim remains in critical condition at a local hospital with severe skull and facial injuries, according to police.
Investigators had previously believed that a dark colored SUV was initially involved in the crash but changed their description of the hit and run vehicle after further investigation. If you have any information regarding this collision, please contact WCPD, 925-943-5844.
