DANVILLE CRIME LOGS: Invasion Of The Identity Snatchers

As things go, Danville remains a quiet bastion of bucolic suburban bliss, but as we see from calls logged by the men and women of the Danville police department last week, there was still plenty for them to do. And what’s up with all those identity theft cases?

Identity theft is nothing new to The Numbers, as thieves, grifters and con men (and women, of course) pilfer our purses, wallets and data and capture everything from our tax refunds to bank and credit card accounts. It’s a billion dollar business and very hard to prosecute. You may want to hang onto those social security numbers a little more stringently, folks.
