A weekend fistfight in unincorporated Walnut Creek brought police on the run.

Calls from neighbors in a normally quiet part of unincorporated Walnut Creek brought police on the run over the weekend and ended with one man in the hospital and two others in police custody.

Neighbors contacted NEWS24-680 at about 2:45 p.m. Saturday after a dispute evolved into a fistfight that ended badly for one man. County Sheriff’s spokesman Jimmy Lee said deputies were dispatched to reports of the fight in the 2400 block of Warren Road. They arrived to find a 43-year-old man who had apparently been beaten by two suspects wandering the street. The unidentified man was taken to Kaiser medical center where he was treated and released.

Deputies arrested two men, both Walnut Creek residents according to Lee, and they were booked into the Martinez Detention Facility on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and battery.

Further investigation determined that the victim and the suspects knew each other and had an ongoing dispute of some sort, according to Lee.
