Ruth Bancroft, founder of the Ruth Bancroft Garden, will demonstrate the creation of seashell shadow boxes using shells she collected from the 1950s to the 1970s on California and Mexico beaches.
The special event is open to six participants only and is scheduled 10:30 – 11:30 a.m., Sat., April 26, at the Ruth Bancroft Garden, 1552 Bancroft Road, Walnut Creek
Participants will then create their own box, using shells from Ruth’s personal collection, to take home. Her shell collection contains specimens so rare that she recently donated several to the California Academy of Sciences. Admission is $200 per person and space is limited to six participants.
