Get some exercise and do some good by participating in Changes Salon & Day Spa’s 5K walk/run to fight and raise awareness about Anti-NMDA Receptor Encephalitis, a rare auto immune disorder.
Proceeds, to be matched up to $25,000 by an anonymous donor, benefit The Autoimmune Encephalitis Alliance and Changes Salon & Day Spa stylist Lauren Davis. Over a year ago, Laurenbegan her baffling medical odyssey with anxiety, paranoia, hallucinations and seizures until tests confirmed Anti-NMDA Receptor Autoimmune Encephalitis. Lauren is facing a long recovery during which she has had to relearn basic skills, including talking.
The event is scheduled for 8 a.m., Sun., March, 9, in front of the Walnut Creek Library, 1644 N. Broadway, Walnut Creek. Check in begins at 7 a.m. The event costs $30 per adult, $20 per child under 13, and $10 per dog.
