Walnut Creek police, with some help from officers in Concord and the State Lottery Commission, have arrested three people in connection with the armed robbery of an employee in the Kaiser parking complex in Walnut Creek last week.

Lt. Steve Gorski said the three suspects were tracked to an address in Concord and arrested there without incident Monday. Shaina Mae Day, 20, of Concord and two male juveniles age 16 and 17 years were all taken into custody, according to Gorski. The juveniles’ names were not given due to their age, but one of the boys was believed to have involved in a commercial burglary and theft of lottery tickets which help officer develop evidence leading to the trio. All three are being held in custody at Contra Costa County Jail and Contra Costa County Juvenile Hall, Gorski said Wednesday.

Gorski said Day was allegedly behind the wheel of an SUV used during the commission of the crime, committed last Wednesday as an unidentified Kaiser employee made their way to their car in the facility’s parking garage at 1425 S. Main St. Police said two men hopped out of the SUV, confronted the employee, brandished a baseball bat and knife, and stole property from the victim before getting back in the car and driving off.

The victim was not injured.
