New Eagles Ready To Fly High In Lafayette

Boy Scout Troop 219 of Lafayette is convening an Eagle Court of Honor on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at St. Perpetua Catholic Parish in Lafayette.

Troop 219, led by Scoutmaster Tyler Higgins, will award the Rank of Eagle to the Scouts pictured here.

Vincent Gladden of Acalanes High School is the son of Brian and Julie Gladden. “Vinny” completely refurbished the sign at Happy Valley Elementary School, and you have him to thank for replenishing the landscaping around the area of the sign.

Justin Higgins of Bentley High School is the son of Tyler and Sierra Higgins. Justin installed 10 Wood Duck nesting boxes around the Lafayette Reservoir perimeter, and scheduled routine inspections for monitoring usage and hatch, and 10 additional Wood Duck nesting boxes at the San Leandro Reservoir. He earned the Hornaday Award for this project.

Ethan Lindgren of Acalanes High School is the son of Jeff and Lisa Lindgren. Ethan designed and constructed raised garden beds at The Gardens at Heather Farm, Walnut Creek.

David MacDannald of Holden High School and Fusion Academy is the son of Harry and Dayna MacDannald. David designed and built a new retaining wall to replace a 72-foot long wooden retaining wall in the parking lot of Lafayette United Methodist Church.

Elias Morley of Bentley High School is the son of Brendan and Christina Morley. Elias led a group of Scouts removing an invasive species of plants from Leona Regional Open Space.

Anton Reifsteck of Acalanes High School is the son of Doug and Lynn Reifsteck. Anton led a group of Scouts at the Lafayette Reservoir to build a retaining wall in the upper parking lot.

Austin Wentzel of Acalanes High School is the son of Brian and Deanna Wentzel. Austin led a group of Scouts in building two picnic benches for Acalanes High School.

Layton Wieczynski of Campolindo High School is the son of Geoff and Danette Wieczynski. Layton led a group of Scouts building Wood Duck boxes that were put into the ground at the San Leandro Reservoir.
