A Lafayette home on Meek Place was heavily damaged by smoke and flame after neighbors spotted fire on the roof at 7:37 p.m. Tuesday.
Contra Costa County Fire Protection District firefighters called to the single story residence at 30 Meek Place were met by smoke and flames on the roof and garage of the residence. Firefighters conducted an extensive search for the residents – who were away at the time the fire broke out – and there were no reports of injuries. The owners of the home returned to the residence while firefighters were still on the scene, neighbors said.
