An armed robber escaped with a small amount of money after holding up the Tutti Frutti Yogurt outlet at Palos Verdes Mall Saturday. The theft capped a weekend of crime at the mall, which also saw two burglaries of local businesses – and one where a brazen thief made off with a restaurant cash register.
Walnut Creek police say the robber visited the store at 1510 Palos Verdes Mall at 5:55 p.m., displayed a pistol and got away with a small amount of cash despite the ensuing police cordon.
Suspect Description:
White male adult, 20’s, 5’-9”, medium build. Suspect was wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, dark tennis shoes, a gray baseball cap with a black bill, and sunglasses.
Police say burglars also struck at the mall, home to a popular Lunardi’s market on Pleasant Hill Road, in one case breaking into the Doh Sit Thai Cuisine restaurant, smashing the glass front door and making off with the restaurant’s cash register – with $200 inside.
The theft was captured on surveillance video.
