New Exhibit Features Rustic CA

Rustic California imagery will feature into an upcoming exhibit at Danville’s Village Theatre Art Gallery.

The Town of Danville welcomes the Bay Area Studio Artists (BASA) to the Village Theatre Art Gallery Nov. 15 through Dec. 16. The upcoming exhibit, Barn Dance: Celebrating Our Agrarian Heritage, will feature acrylic and oil paintings that represent a wide range of aesthetic choices and viewpoints on California.

The Opening Reception for the exhibit will be in conjunction with the Village Theatre’s 100th Anniversary Grand Engagement Celebration 5 – 7 p.m., Sat., Nov. 16, in the Village Theatre Art Gallery, 233 Front st., Danville.

BASA is a group of local artists who have painted together for more than five years. Their painting styles range from nuanced realism to gooey expressionism. The show is curated with an illuminating eye and highlights a diverse point of view. Guest artist Joe Bologna will contribute industrial material sculptures with a comic twist.

Featured Artists: Jeanette Baird, Susan Bonebakker, Pat Dallacroce, Ellen Reintjes, Joanne Taeuffer, Sharon Tama, Marcy Wheeler and guest artists Suzun Almquist and Joe Bologna.
