Walnut Creek police, responding to a resident’s call of someone rummaging through their car early Wednesday morning, arrested a 19-year-old Concord teen and subsequently booked him on suspicion of a number of charges.
Police arrested Jose Dejesus Zacarias, 19, whose last known address was in Concord, shortly after 5 a.m. in the 2600 Block of Breton Place after a caller reported seeing him rummaging through their car. Officers were in the area quickly, according to a report issued by Sgt. Mike Sugrue, and arrested Zacarias without incident.
Zacarias was found to be in possession of stolen property and drug paraphernalia, according to police, and was booked at the county jail in Martinez for a variety of charges.
Police said they recovered property taken from at least one car and returned it to its rightful owner. Police said it could not be immediately determined if Zacarias was responsible for other thefts or burglaries in the area. They are asking residents who find that their cars have been tampered with to notify them at (925) 943-5844.
