1961 – 2013
A vigil of remembrance is planned for tonight, Thursday, September 26 in memory of one of the area’s brightest daughters – Karen Lynn Scoma – who passed away peacefully on September 22, 2013 at John Muir hospital.
Tonight’s vigil will be held at Hull’s Walnut Creek Chapel, 1139 Saranap Ave., Walnut Creek, at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services are to follow tomorrow, Friday, September 27 at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Isadore’s Catholic Church, 440 La Gonda Way, Danville. There will be a reception following the service.
A graduate of Campolindo High School in Moraga and a long-time resident of Danville, Mrs. Scoma was well known to many in the area. She is survived by her husband Chuck, her four children Gianna, Angelina, and step-children Chad and Taylor.
She also leaves her father, Michael Angelo Bruno, sisters, Lorraine Miller (husband Don) and Janet Blosil (husband Mark), sister in-law Liz Bertran, brother in-law Tony Scoma (wife Lisa), and brother in-law Vince Scoma (wife Claire), twelve nieces and nephews, and lifelong friends Kelly Alioto, Francie Louie, Nancy Denardo, Kathy Hawkes, and Valerie Schwartz.
A college fund for Gianna and Angelina Scoma is being established in lieu of flowers.
