Walnut Creek police are reporting an armed robbery at 1510 Geary Road in their city late Monday. In a release issued by Sgt. Mike Sugrue Tuesday police say a man was robbed at knifepoint by a thief who approached him in the parking lot of the Sprouts Farmers Market.
Investigators said an employee leaving a local business in the area at 11:04 p.m. Monday was confronted by a white male in his early 20s, approximately 5’10”, with a thin build and “sunken in face,” short hair and pale skin. The man produced a knife and demanded money.
Sugrue said the victim turned over some money and the suspect fled on foot. A tracking dog brought in to locate the suspect lost the scent. The victim was not injured.
Police said the man was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and tan soled shoes. They asked anyone with information to call the Walnut Creek Police Department at (925) 943-5844.
