Moraga Gets A New Police Officer

Mandy Smith

Police Chief Bob Priebe and town staff are introducing Moraga’s latest law officer around town as Modesto native Mandy Smith’s hire brings the town’s corps du police to 11 officers – just one short of their recommended staffing level.

Officer Smith graduated from Modesto Junior College and earned her BS degree in Criminal Justice Management from Union Institute & University. In her update on town news Town Clerk Marty McInturf said Smith was class leader in her police academy and started her career as a deputy with the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department in 2004 – where she worked three years in the county jail and more than six years on patrol.

Officer Smith was introduced to the Town Council and sworn in on June 12. If you see her around town, give her a Moraga “howdy.”
